WILDLIFE

Serengeti:
White bearded Wildebeest
The variety and abundance of wildlife in the Serengeti is unmatched anywhere else in Africa, which is why it is such an integral part of a Tanzanian safari. Here you can see great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and many other such as eland, topi, hartebeest, impala and Grant's gazelle are resident at any time of the year. All three big cats lion, leopard & cheetah are easily seen. Lion are everywhere and are often found on a kill. Cheetah are very common on the southeastern plains, while leopard can typically be found lazing in one of the big trees along the Seronera River.

The Serengeti is well known for its annual wildebeest migration, when thousands of wildebeest, zebras and Thomson gazelle join the trek for fresh grazing grounds.
