Welcome to Nimali Africa
Nimali derives its name from the Swahili word for wealth, often used to describe a plentiful supply of a desirable thing. We believe nature is Africa’s greatest wealth and we have that in abundance, ready to share with our guests in our collection of boutique camps and lodges throughout Tanzania. We will share our passion for preserving and protecting the land, wildlife and the people that surround us through our exceptional and authentic safari experiences.
Nimali Tarangire is a hidden gem. Small and intimate, this tented camp nestles under the shade of acacia trees overlooking a pretty dry riverbed bordered by huge and dramatic granite boulders. Nimali Tarangire sits contentedly in its own private concession, bordering Tarangire National Park. The concession, together with the surrounding Wildlife Management Area, is simply an extension of the Park and offers exclusive game viewing far from the crowds. There are no fences between our private concession, the surrounding Wildlife Management Area or the National Park and animals wander freely between these areas.
Nimali Central Serengeti is set in the heart of the Serengeti plains in northern Tanzania, near to Makoma Hill. This luxury tented camp offers seclusion in a hidden area but in the heart of the National Park. With breathtaking views over the Serengeti Plains and perfectly situated to see the Great Migration, it is a place where you can expect the unexpected.
Nimali Mara, the third camp to join the Nimali Africa family, will be located in the quieter and more remote Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti National Park. This small, intimate tented camp will offer a sense of quiet elegance and timelessness with its blend of natural materials and contemporary design. Nimali Mara will be opening in 2019.
My husband and I had such a great time here! Both days after our safari we would sit in the lounge chairs, drink wine, and watch the wildlife! It was fantastic! The staff was so awesome, too! They really went above and beyond making sure...More
We spent 2 nights at Nimali and the food and service were fantastic. We were given a poolside table both nights for dinner and were able to watch (and listen) to the animals coming to the watering hole. Also had a great night drive with...More

(This is one of two reviews for a Nimali property; the other is Central Serengeti. Both are equally strong.) When we began to plan for Tanzania, we decided that we did not want a totally "westernized" version of the country. That eliminated Treetops in Tarangire,...More
Nimali Tarangire was our first stay on our safari trip, but we were still very impressed by its quality services after staying in several different accommodations throughout the whole trip. The whole lodge was well-located(by a river on one side and the forest on the...More
We stayed here 1 night while on a 7-day safari with Asanja Africa. The setting is truly gorgeous, in the heart of the bush. We heard an elephant and lions during the night, plus countless birds the next morning. We went on a night game...More
We have just arrived back in Arusha and would like to say that we had a very special and marvelous stay at your lodge. The lodge is amazing with a river on 1 side and the waterhole on the other. But what was even more...More
We spent 3 days in Nimali Tarangire and then went to Nimali Central Serengeti, and overall they both were amazing experiences. Nimali Tarangire is in an exceptional location, just outside the park and surrounded by animals. Indeed, the quantity and variety of wildlife we could...More
Just returned from a 9-day safari with my husband and 2 friends. We started in Arusha and ended in the Serengeti. Our first stop was at Nimali Tarangire where we stayed for 3 nights. Ruben and his staff set a very high bar for what...More
We spent two nights at this incredible camp in Tarangire. By far, this was my favourite place of all the places we stayed on our safari. From the moment we arrived, until we left, the service was unbelievable. Many, many thanks to all of the staff for making our stay memorable and joyful. The food was out of this world, and we certainly enjoyed our first dinner there, under the stars beside the beautiful campfire. Thank you Robert for your attentive service, and your humour. The tent was everything we hoped for and more. Comfortable bed, attached bathroom with all the amenities, deck overlooking the river - truly perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer. I highly, highly recommend this camp for anyone staying in Tarangire. Absolutely magnificent. More
