Expect a warm welcome for the entire family at Nimali!

Nimali is a family owned and run business, so we've made sure that our Safaris for the Senses are perfect for guests and their entire families, children included! We welcome children of all ages on safaris in Tarangire and the Serengeti, as well as extended family groups. This means that you can pack up the kids and grandparents too and come and enjoy some wonderful "we" time together in the wilds of Africa!

A safari is especially wonderful for children as it opens their hearts and minds to the magic of the wilderness and the incredible power of Mother Nature. Indeed, a game drive doubles as a wonderful outdoor classroom where they can learn about African wildlife and plants in a fun, interactive way from our experienced guides.

It's a sensory adventure for them as they get to find out how to identify animals, get the lowdown on their tracks and even their poop! It's also a fabulous opportunity for them to switch off from the devices and screens that are the centre of their lives at home, undergoing a digital detox without them even realising it!

The old adage that travel broadens the mind is bang on the money when it comes to a Nimali safari, because your children will find themselves not just in a different country but in some of the most remote and pristine wilderness areas on the planet, about as far removed from the familiarity of home as it's possible to get, taking them out of their comfort zones and challenging them to see the world in a different light, showing them everything they take for granted in the process.

Learning curves aside, a safari is lots of fun for children as they discover an infinite number of wonderful creatures and enjoy the spectacle of seeing animals behaving naturally in their natural environment. It's also special because they get to spend quality time with you, as their parents, and, if you bring the extended family, their relatives as well. This is most noticeable at mealtimes when your family sits around the same table or campfire together and shares stories of the day's adventures and experiences they are having without a single cellphone in sight!

We do a lot of bonding around food, so expect us to spoil your family with special sundowner stops, bush dinners, picnic lunches and breakfasts out in the wilderness. The memories you will create together are beyond compare and will last a lifetime and make you wonder why you don't all gather for meals more often. Spending time together on safari reminds you how important family is, and why renewing and strengthening familial bonds is so important.

Being together in a wilderness environment like the Serengeti and Tarangire also gives you the chance to just unwind together and forget the stresses of everyday life. You don't have to prepare a meal or organise activities, there's no TV news or politics to get upset over and you can just enjoy one another's company and talk about something different, or just chill out in the African sunshine around a sparkling pool with views of forever.

If your family is far apart at home, located in different cities or even countries, reuniting in the African wilderness is a wonderful way to catch up and spend quality time together. Perhaps your kids have flown the nest and built new lives for themselves? If so, bringing them on safari, either solo or with their partners, is a truly magical way to touch base and so much better than Facetime or WhatsApp!

So, if you are considering a family vacation, then a Nimali Safari for the Senses makes perfect "sense"! Get in touch with us and let's chat about your options and create a truly sensational experience for you and yours.
